Booking Terms
These are the terms your seat is sold under. They are short on purpose — you should be able to read them before you pay.
Who you are contracting with
These terms cover seats booked through ftacharters.com with Fishing The Atlantic, operating from 159-35 Crossbay Blvd, Howard Beach, NY 11414. Booking a seat means you accept them.

What you are buying
A seat on an open-boat fishing trip — not the boat. Other anglers who booked the same date will be aboard with you. Trips start at $150 per angler and the exact price is shown on each date before you pay.
Trips carry 5–6 anglers depending on what we are fishing for, and it takes 3 booked seats for a trip to sail.
If you book every seat on a date nobody else has booked, the boat is yours for that trip. There is no separate private-charter product.
Payment
Payment is taken in full at the time of booking. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch this website.
Your seat is not held until payment completes. Until then the date stays open to everyone else.
Cancelling your booking
Cancel 48 hours or more before departure and you get a full refund. Inside 48 hours the seat is non-refundable, because at that point we have turned other anglers away from it.
To cancel, email us with your booking reference. Refunds go back to the card that paid and typically take five to ten business days to appear, depending on your bank.
If we cancel
If the captain cancels for weather you get a full refund. The call is the captain's and it is made on safety, not on optimism — the boat does not go out in conditions it should not be in.
If a trip does not reach its minimum we contact you before the departure and you choose: a full refund, or move your seat to another date. You are never left guessing and never charged for a trip that did not sail.
We do not cancel lightly. When we do, you hear it from us directly rather than finding out at the dock.
Getting there on time
There is a 15-minute grace period after the departure time. After that the boat leaves without you and the seat is non-refundable — the tide does not wait, and the rest of the crew paid for the same window.
A seat that is not cancelled and not used is non-refundable.

Gear
Fishing gear is not included. Rental is $30 for an inshore setup and $70 for an offshore setup, paid at the dock. You are welcome to bring your own.
On the water
Fishing from a boat carries risk. Weather, sea state and moving equipment are part of it, and you take part accepting that.
The captain runs the boat. Decisions about where to fish, when to move and when to come in are his, and they are made on safety and on conditions.
Anyone whose behaviour puts the crew or other guests at risk can be put ashore, without a refund.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
